The UAE imitates 16 medals in the Winter World Games

The Emirati mission achieved an exceptional sports achievement in the Winter Games of the Special Olympics «Turin 2025), which concluded its activities on Sunday, as it won 16 medals (four golds, five silver and seven bronze).

This victory is a new addition to the balance of Emirati sports achievements in the first winter games after Abu Dhabi’s summer World Games hosting 2019.
The UAE Special Olympics team, which included 11 players and players with mental and development challenges, starred in running on snow, suburb hacker, artistic skiing, alpine skiing, rapid skiing on a short track, and tablet.
For his part, the National Director of the UAE Special Olympics and the head of the mission to Turin 2025 Talal Al -Hashemi said: “Our happiness is great with the exceptional achievement, as I witnessed myself the insistence of our players and their great determination as they compete for the snow slopes. Wonderful in the Winter Winter Games of the Special Olympics Torin 2025 with a set of outstanding results and achievements, thanks to their serious preparations that they performed months before the games started. ”
The Emirati participation in the Winter Winter Games of the Special Olympics in Italy, which witnessed 1500 players from 102 countries, is an affirmation of teamwork and dedication to training and wonderful preparation where the Emirati Special Olympics organized a series of intensive training sessions for the participating players, which focused on developing their skills in the six sports in which they compete, under the official sponsorship of Mubadala, and in cooperation with the Emirates Federation for Winter Sports As a supporter and Majid Al Futtaim (Ski Dubai and Seno Abu Dhabi) as an official partner. Two training camps were organized, the first in Uzbekistan last January, and the second in Dubai in March, before the players’ travel to Turin. In addition, training for winter sports coaches was organized in November 2024, with the aim of enabling them to prepare players in a way that guarantees their complete readiness for competitions.
