Al -Wahda coach, Slovenian Darko Milan, confirmed that Al -Annabi will fight for second place in the ADNOC Professional League, stressing that the followers of the team’s matches have changed significantly in the last period for the better.
Milanic told «Emirates Today» that he is very happy because Al -Wahda is going well towards finishing the season in the best possible way, explaining: “The team has finally returned to the victories in the league, after it tied in the past four rounds, in front of Al -Nasr, Al -Wasl, Al -Arabism and Al -Ahly youth, and there is no doubt that winning a large team like Sharjah gives the players a strong moral boost to finish the season well.”
He added: «All matches are important and difficult, and we played a strong match against Sharjah, as in the first half we presented a good level and scored two goals, then we continued our preference in the second half and scored the third goal, in addition to wasting many opportunities to add more goals.
In response to a question about the aspirations of the unit, and the possibility of obtaining the second place in the ranking list, he said: “Three months ago, I did not receive this question, which means that the team improved and played well during this period, and the performance developed and achieved results that contributed to the team becoming a competitor for the second place before the end of the league competition with three rounds.”
He continued: “We have to continue working in the remaining matches in the ADNOC Professional League, and to show in every round of the league that we have the ability to achieve good results, and that we deserve to be second.”
The Slovenian coach praised the performance of Al -Wahda players against Sharjah, and said: “I think it was an ideal match for us again, we got three important points, and it was important that we did not enter goals, as we defend well and played for victory, and we were the best team, and in the second half we greatly outperformed, but we have to repeat this performance in the upcoming matches.”
He concluded his remarks by saying: “Participating in the continental championships in the next season, an important goal for the club, and we are working to provide everything we have in the upcoming matches, as we will play difficult confrontations, but as I mentioned, I hope that we will continue to play with the focus itself, and we will see what center we will get at the end of the season.”
It is noteworthy that the unit regained the third place with a rise to 41 points, as it will play in the next three rounds in front of Dibba Al -Hosn clubs, Al -Jazeera and Al -Batal, while Sharjah occupies the second place with 45 points, and he will play in front of Al Ain clubs, Khor Fakkan and Al Wasl, and the “Emperor” also competes for second place, where he currently occupies fourth place with 40 points, and will play in front of Al -Uruba clubs, Beni Yas and Sharjah.
