Yemen’s goalkeeper, Muhammad Aman, caught the attention during his country’s match against Iraq, Sunday evening, which ended with Iraq’s victory by a single goal.
Aman (27 years old) played his eighth international match with his country against Iraq, and demonstrated great talent and was the undisputed first man of the match.
“Aman” began his football career in the neighborhood, then the school and popular teams, then joined Al-Ahqaf Club and moved from there to the Hadhramaut People’s Club.
The Yemeni goalkeeper will not forget the history of the match between Yemen and Uzbekistan, in the year 2021, which marked the beginning of a real start towards protecting the Yemeni Red Lair in the rest of the matches, as he shined in the match, and was able to valiantly defend his goal, save a penalty kick, block many dangerous balls, and perform at a high level. All the athletes and followers were impressed.
But the injury then kept Mohamed Aman away from the Yemeni team in the Asian Cup qualifiers in 2023, because of which he was away for a long period after surgical intervention.
Muhammad Aman commented on his country’s loss to Iraq, stressing that his team played a strong match against the defending champion and was a strong match for them and had more than one opportunity to score, but was unsuccessful in them, and the Iraqi team took advantage of one mistake and scored the winning goal.
He said: “Our strong performance against Iraq will be an incentive for us in the remaining two matches in the Gulf Championship. Our ambition is great to reach the second round despite the recognition of the strength of our group.”
