Ajman Club has reached an initial agreement with the first team coach, Serbian Gourane Tougdzicic, to renew his contract and continue to lead the “orange” during the next season, provided that the final contract will be signed during the next few days, after the end of the team’s participation in the current season of the ADNOC Professional League.
In a statement to «Emirates Today», Gouran confirmed that there is a consensus between him and the club’s management about most of the details of the new contract, pointing to his satisfaction with the continuation of the team for an additional season.
This approach comes within the pursuit of the Ajman Club administration, and since it took responsibility about 15 years ago, to achieve technical and administrative stability for the first team, which appears through the limitations of the number of coaches who have successively training the team since the appointment of Khalifa Al -Jarman as Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2010.
Since Ajman returned to the Professional League in the 2016-2017 season, only four coaches were led, most notably the Egyptian Ayman Al-Ramadi, who led the team from amateurs until the 2021 season, then Goran, who trained the team for two seasons before moving to victory in the 2023-2024 season.
During the last season, the team passed two technical changes, as the season started under the leadership of Brazilian Caio Zanardi, who was sacked after four rounds, to be succeeded by Romanian Daniel Isila until the end of the season, before the club decided to return Gouran after the end of his contract with Al -Wahda Club.
Gouran scored remarkable results with Ajman during a previous training period, as he led the team in the 2021-2022 season to the seventh place in the league with 35 points, achieving 10 wins and five draws compared to 11 losses. As for the 2022-2023 season, the team presented an exceptional season, as it won 44 points, ranking sixth, which is the best position for the club in the Professional League, in addition to reaching the semi-final of the President of the State Cup before bid farewell to the tournament against Sharjah.
The current season is the least for the Ajman team, as it has played 23 games so far in the league, during which he achieved eight victories and three draws, while he was lost in 12 games, the last of which was against Al -Oruba, the day before yesterday, to remain in the tenth place with 27 points.
Gourane seemed to be dissatisfied with the result that the confrontation ended, although his team was ahead of two goals before the Arabism turned the result in his interest 3-2.
The Serbian coach said in press statements: “I cannot accept the loss in that way that occurred in the Arab match. They posed a danger to us and managed to score three goals. ”
Gouran:
. The distinctive relationship with management and players, in addition to the support of the fans, is one of the factors that encourage me to stay.
