“National Service” does not fall from the owners of criminal precedents

The National and Reserve Service Authority stated that the national service does not fall from the convicts with criminal cases, regardless of the charge they were imprisoned for, as it does not drop the criminal precedents of citizens of any kind. She explained to «Emirates Today» that the recruiter is a precedent, who has performed his punishment, will be treated as an ordinary citizen who performs service, without looking at the period in which he ruled earlier, or his criminal record of any kind.

She added that Law No. (6) of 2014 regarding the national service stipulated the imposition of service on every citizen from 18 to 30 years old, with the exception of several cases, determined by the medical committee and the conditions of the citizen who provided the national service.

The commission continued that the performance of the convicts can be postponed to the national service until it reaches the age of 40, without looking at the case that requires its punishment, adding that the national service does not fall from him, stressing that the age of the citizen is the one who determines the issue of the performance of the national service.

She stated that the convicts in the issues of mental influences will be accepted regardless of the period they spent in the reformist and punitive facilities, and the medical committee determines their acceptance, adding, “If the committee argues that what is required for recruitment is able to perform the service, he will do so immediately, and if the committee’s decision is that it must be done Rehabilitation first before affiliation with the service, his performance will be postponed until the rehabilitation period has ended.

She explained that the citizen, who performed his sentence earlier, will be treated like the ordinary citizen without holding him accountable for the criminal registry or addressing it during the service, stressing that “the national service enhances the concept of good citizenship, and helps to acquire new behaviors, and engage in a new environment, as it is affected by companionship. A positive effect is a positive impact.

She pointed out that the national service will help change the lifestyle of the owners of criminal records, and to help them leave the customs they previously acquired that helped their behavior the wrong path, adding that the role of the national service is a complement to the role of reformist and penal installations in returning them to the right path.

The compulsory service law specified the conditions for the exemption that stipulated that whoever proves that it is not medically fit for a decision by a decision of the medical committee, or the only son of his father or his mother, or both, while proving this by the official papers from the competent authority in the country, is completely exempt from the national and reserve service.

The national service for students of educational institutions in the country, or its equivalent abroad, is postponed until they obtain the qualification for which the service has been postponed, and the General Command, in agreement with educational institutions, will determine the mechanism of informing the competent authorities of recruitment of the names of students or trainees, and everything related to their position on the study Or experimentation, even obtaining the qualification or reaching their ages, the maximum acceptance of the recruits, in addition to postponing the service to the convicted person with a punishment restricted to freedom or the imprisonment in reserve throughout the period of implementation of the penalty or pre -trial detention.

The commission received the first batch of recruits with the beginning of September, whose numbers exceeded 7,000 recruits, in the five camps at the state level, two centers in Al Ain, a center in the western region, a center in Manama, Ajman for males, in addition to a training center in Khawla Bint Al -Azwar Military School For females.
