Etihad Air Company announced yesterday its financial results for the year 2024, registered a net profit after the tax, which amounted to 1.749 billion dirhams, with a growth of 234% compared to 2023, with the support of travelers’ revenues that reached more than 20.8 billion dirhams, an annual increase of 25% And freight revenues, which recorded about 4.2 billion dirham 25.3 billion dirhams, with a growth of 25%.
The company stated, in a statement, that it transported 18.5 million passengers during the past year, an increase of 32% compared to 2023, explaining that this growth came supported by an annual increase of 28% in the available seat capacity per kilometer, in addition to the improvement of the seat occupancy factor and the rate of travelers’ load Which reached 87% in the fiscal year 2024, compared to 86% in the previous year (2023).
Etihad Airways continued to expand its operations, as it raised the number of its weekly flights to more than 1700 flights, and the pace of flights increased on 25 tracks within its operating network during the past two years.
It also launched more than 20 new destinations, including Boston, Jaipur, Bali and Nairobi, in addition to summer destinations such as Antalya, Nice and Santorini, including more than 10 new destinations from the planned in 2025.
12 new aircraft were added to the carrier fleet, including six A320 NEO aircraft, as well as the restart of the Fifth A380.
The number of “Etihad Airways” employees has increased to more than 11 thousand employees, with more than 2000 new employees, and the promotion of more than 1500 employees within the various departments. The initiatives to attract national talent witnessed remarkable progress, as more than 70 Emirati pilots have successfully trained their training program, while the latest training programs for pilots attracted more than 3000 requests to join. Currently, citizens represent 20% of the workforce in Etihad Air.
