111 horses compete in the eighth evening of the Dubai Racing Carnival

The eighth evening of the Dubai Racing Carnival begins today at the Meydan International Racecourse, witnessing nine strong races with the participation of an elite group of international horses.

111 horses will participate in the evening, competing for total financial prizes amounting to 2.7 million dirhams, distributed over the nine rounds, all of which are allocated to purebred hybrid horses, with the exception of the first half, which is allocated to purebred Arabian horses.

At the forefront of the scene is the seventh-round race, “Cape Verde,” for purebred fillies and mares of the second category, which extends for a distance of 1,600 meters on the grass track, with the participation of five horses competing for financial prizes amounting to 850 thousand dirhams.

The sixth round race also highlights the “Coca Beach Stakes” for purebred fillies according to age and results, for a distance of 1,600 meters on a sand track, with the participation of nine fillies, and financial prizes amounting to 400 thousand dirhams.

The evening begins with the first half dedicated to purebred Arabian horses, where 16 horses compete over a distance of 1,400 meters on the sand track, to win financial prizes amounting to 120 thousand dirhams.

The value of the race prizes varies between 190,000 dirhams in the second half, 300,000 dirhams in the third half, and 175,000 dirhams for each of the fourth and fifth halves, the latter of which is allocated to purebred hybrid horses that did not win in two races, for a distance of 1,200 meters on the grass track.

As for the eighth half, it is dedicated to purebred cross-bred horses with a par system, for a distance of 1,400 meters on the grass track, with the participation of nine horses competing for financial prizes amounting to 300 thousand dirhams.

The evening concludes with the ninth round, which is allocated to purebred cross-bred horses on a par system, over a distance of 1,900 meters on the grass track, with the participation of 13 horses, competing for financial prizes amounting to 190,000 dirhams.
