The Dubai World Trade Center announced yesterday its results for the year 2024, which revealed a strong performance that contributed to enhancing the economic growth of Dubai, and consolidating its position is an integrated global platform to support the business and trade sector, as the center received 2.65 million participants, during the past year, an increase of 7% compared to 2023, thanks to a schedule of events that included 378 activities in the meeting, stimulation, conferences, exhibitions and commercial activities Consumer, registered 26% growth compared to 2023.
The center stated, in a statement, that the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector witnessed significant growth, as the number of events increased from 107 events in 2023, to 135 events in 2024 with the participation of 2.03 million participants, which reflects annual growth by 30%.
The international participation in the events increased by 30% compared to 2023, as the number of participants from all over the world reached 942 thousand participants, or 46% of the total attendance, which strengthened Dubai’s position as a leading business destination worldwide.
The exhibitions and events hosted by the center witnessed the participation of 58 thousand and 665 exhibitors, an increase of 9% compared to 2023, while the international exhibitors that submitted from outside the country constituted 77%, which reflects Dubai’s ability to attract international companies.
The center also organized 20 main exhibitions and effectiveness in 2024, in which 590 thousand participants participated, with an annual increase of 14%. The number of international participants reached 242 thousand, with 41% of the total attendance.
The number of parties participating in the center’s exhibitions increased by 9%, as it reached 19 thousand and 62 companies, of which 15 thousand international companies, equivalent to 79% of the total participating parties in the exhibition.
Kon International Company contributed to strengthening the presence of the Dubai World Trade Center at the international level, by expanding its main activities outside Dubai, where activities such as the two GITEX Africa exhibitions in Morocco and GITEX Dege Health 5.0 Asia in Singapore witnessed remarkable success.
The Dubai World Trade Center continued to strengthen the conference and events agenda, as it hosted 25 conferences, equivalent to twice the number registered in 2023. 17 new events were added in which about 90 thousand participants participated, or three times the number registered in 2023.
The center hosted 14 activities for international organizations and associations, attended by more than 104 thousand participants, or three times the number registered in 2023.
The contributions of the Dubai Exhibition Center increased in 2024, which hosted 24 activities, attended by 128,000 participants. It attracted the largest exhibitions and conferences of 75 thousand participants, with the participation of 1,300 exhibitors.
The Director General of the Dubai World Trade Center, Hilal Saeed Al -Marri, said: “The achievements of 2024 are not limited to the noticeable rise in growth numbers, but also reflects the pivotal role of the Dubai World Trade Center in establishing the emirate’s position on the map of global markets.”
He added: «The noticeable rise in the percentage of international posts embodies the increasing confidence in the prosperous business system in Dubai, and the center of the center in enhancing activities and trade relations, as it reflects our success in attracting new and varied activities of the unique position of Dubai as a global destination that combines opportunities and innovation.
Al -Marri continued: “This momentum gives us more confidence while we continue to implement our ambitious strategy to develop the infrastructure to host major events, in line with the growing global demand.”
Dubai Exhibition Center expansion
The Dubai World Trade Center continues to implement the main plan for the expansion of the Dubai Exhibition Center with a value of 10 billion dirhams, which enhances its role in the business activities system in Dubai, and the first stage, scheduled to be completed in 2026, is scheduled to add a new permanent exhibition area of 64 thousand square meters, so that the total area rises to 140 thousand square meters, and by 2031 the center will extend over an area of 180 thousand square meters, which allows hosting 65 A thousand visitors daily, and organize major events at the same time.
The most prominent performance sectors in 2024
The health care, medicine and science sector maintained its position as the most prominent performance, as it witnessed the organization of 25 events, with the participation of 465 thousand people, and the food, hotels and supply sector came second, attracting more than 283 thousand participants.
In turn, the information and communications technology sector ranked third, as the participation of more than 281 thousand participants witnessed 14% of the total participants, while the consumer commodity sector witnessed the attendance of more than 112 thousand participants, and the entertainment, sports and travel sector to participate about 110 thousand participants.
