The company supports the country’s economic visions, enhancing its industrial growth within the framework of the National Industrial Growth Strategy (300 Billion Project), as it contributes significantly to advancing and diversifying the national economy, through a commitment to localizing supply chains and investing in industrial expansion and advanced technologies.

Based on its pioneering role in supporting the local market, the company’s aluminum sales volume reached 149 thousand tons during the first half of the year, which were sold to 26 companies specialized in manufacturing aluminum products in the country.

The CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium, Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, stressed that the company plays an active role in supporting the national economy as a major driver of the aluminum sector, noting that its contribution to the country’s economy during the past year amounted to more than 23.8 billion dirhams, directly and indirectly, with a percentage representing more than From 1.3% of GDP.

He told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that “the company is committed to redirecting about seven billion dirhams to the local economy annually, through purchases of local goods and services,” pointing to its success last year in redirecting more than eight billion dirhams, based on its keenness to increase its contribution. In the national economy.

He added: “The company seeks to enhance the development of new industrial activities in the country, to meet the requirements of its supply chain and increase its local spending, as the percentage of purchases (Emirates Global Aluminum) has reached – since it joined the (National Value Added) program of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the year 2022 so far – about 42%.

He explained that “Emirates Global Aluminum is working to increase the localization of purchases and services throughout its supply chain,” explaining that one of the most prominent materials that has been localized is “alumina,” which is the basic raw material used in aluminum smelters.

Regarding the company’s role in supporting the growth of startups and entrepreneurs, Bin Kalban emphasized the contribution of the “Ramp-Up” program, which was launched in 2022, in empowering entrepreneurs’ projects, and said, “This step enhances the localization of the company’s purchases in line with the (Make in) initiative.” Emirates), and the National Industrial Growth Strategy (300 Billion Project).” He explained that “Ramp-Up” provides support and guidance to emerging companies, through cooperation with a group of international experts, and provides a series of intensive training courses on effective entrepreneurship and sustainable business strategies. .
