UAE male and female players won four medals (two gold, one silver and one bronze) in the Asian Amateur Speed Chess Championship, held in Al Ain and concluding today, Sunday.
The Emirates and Sharjah Club player, Hamad Essam, won first place, winning the gold medal. The Uzbek player, Muhammad Reda, came second, and the Emirates and Fujairah Club player, Muhammad Saeed Al-Laili, came in third.
In the women’s competition, Wafia Darwish Al-Maamari, Al Ain Club player, won gold medals, followed by Anoud Issa, Sharjah Girls Club player, while Indian Mohanti Samaraki came third.
