The Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, inspected the progress of work in the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, with a capacity of 1,800 megawatts, with an independent energy producer system, with investments amounting to about 5.5 billion dirhams.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is the largest solar energy complex in one location in the world, and its production capacity will exceed 5,000 megawatts by 2030, with investments amounting to about 50 billion dirhams.

The complex projects, which are being implemented by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority with an independent producer system, constitute the most important foundations for achieving the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of the energy production capacity from clean energy sources by the year 2050.

Al Tayer listened to the progress made in the sixth phase from officials of Shuaa Energy 4, which was established by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar). The Authority owns 60% of the company, while Masdar owns 40%.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is implementing the sixth phase of the complex according to the independent energy producer model, using the latest technologies of bifacial photovoltaic solar panels, which allow the use of reflected sunlight on the front and back sides, with a single-axis solar tracking system.
