The Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs launched the eighth batch of the Government Innovation Diploma Program, which it organizes in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, with the participation of 50 participants from federal and local government agencies in the UAE.
The Government Innovation Diploma Program, in its eighth batch, aims to enhance the culture of innovation and transform it into a daily practice in the government work environment, contributing to doubling the impact of innovation, and translating the new directions of the government innovation framework, by building the capabilities of government cadres and providing them with tools, in a way that enhances the country’s leadership. The Emirates and turns it into a global center for innovation, and the program covers five training tracks, continuing over a period of six months, during which the participants work on 60 projects, including individual projects to innovate solutions to the challenges they face. Their workplaces, and group projects to support achieving the priorities of the We Are the Emirates 2031 vision, and designing the next big innovative project in the Emirates.
Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, Hoda Al Hashemi, said in a press statement yesterday that the Government Innovation Diploma reflects the strategic visions of the UAE government, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him. Hoda Al Hashemi said that the launch of the eighth batch of the diploma confirms the government’s keenness to sustain innovation by preparing innovative minds, qualifying new generations of chief innovation officers and future leaders, providing them with modern knowledge, and enabling them to create effective solutions that reflect positively on society, noting that strengthening the country’s leadership The UAE on the global stage, and supporting its quest to be one of the most innovative countries in the world, is largely linked to its ability to promote innovation in various fields, including government work.
The program includes five courses, and an educational visit to the University of Cambridge in Britain. The first course focuses on the importance of redesigning areas of focus, understanding non-traditional solutions and their role in innovation, learning to formulate and reformulate problems from different angles, analyzing viewpoints and evaluation, and the possibility of implementing the innovative idea in an area. the job.
The second course deals with the process of generating ideas, tools for developing creativity and storytelling and their role in providing innovative solutions, while the third course discusses adaptation, effective design, and strategic planning for innovation.
The fourth course reviews topics, most notably the effective evaluation of solutions, the ability to adapt to future requirements and changes, addressing the challenges associated with abandoning traditional methods, finding more effective alternatives, and managing relationships to stimulate a culture of innovation, while the fifth course focuses on developing communication skills to highlight the impact of innovations, and innovation in Government agencies and society, linking strategic goals to implementable steps, and achieving impact.
It is noteworthy that the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation, since its launch of the Government Innovation Diploma Program in 2015, has graduated about 395 government employees, in seven batches, who worked on developing 377 innovative projects. The program contributes to building national capabilities specialized in innovation, and establishing a culture of innovation in the entities. By disseminating modern concepts and knowledge, and qualifying participants to transfer them to become a daily approach and practice in the work environment, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Advanced Innovation, in capacity building.
