A statistic monitored by «Emirates Today» revealed that 38 foreign referees have managed matches in the Professional Football League, since the start of the foreign whistle in October 2021 to the 18th round of the current season 2024-2025, as the past three seasons in the league witnessed the participation of 28 foreign referee, in addition to the appearance of 10 stadiums in the 18 rounds of the current season of the ADNOC Professional League.

According to the statistic, the Al -Wahda team tops the list of the most clubs in the matches that foreign judges have shown since the start of the use of foreign referees, with 18 games, while Al -Ain is ranked second with 17 games, and Al -Wasl third with 9 games, and Al -Ahly and Sharjah youth come in fourth with eight games each, and both Al -Jazeera, Kalba and Al -Nasr in the fifth place in four games each, while the whistle appeared Foreign in two games for the Ajman team, and in one match for Khorfakkan and the UAE, when the latter was playing in the professional league before landing to the first division.

The total cost of the foreign whistle in the UAE league since the start of the use of foreign arbitration in October 2021 until now 6 million and 460 thousand dirhams, knowing that the Football Association had officially announced that the cost of attracting the foreign arbitration team for one match is 170 thousand dirhams.

The foreign whistle appeared for the first time in the league during the Al-Ahly and Al-Jazeera youth match, in the seventh round of the 2021-2022 season, as the Turkish referee Junit Shaker led the match that ended with Al-Ahly’s 2-1 victory.

Al-Ahly youth is currently leading the league standings for the current season 2024-2025 with 47 points, followed by Sharjah in second place with 40 points, the unit third with 31 points, the island fourth with 30 points, and the eye is fifth with 29 points.
