7 years in prison for the former director of Fujairah

After seven months of pleadings, deliberations and hearing witnesses, the Fujairah Criminal Court issued a ruling yesterday in the case of falsifying the plans of the Fujairah Municipality, where three accused were acquitted and five other defendants were imprisoned, including the former director of the municipality. In detail, the court ruled that three accused (AC), (HS), and (SAAA) and punishing the former municipal director (RAT) to be imprisoned for four years imprisonment for the charge of forgery. And three years on the charge of displaying bribery while acquitting him of the charge of accepting bribery.

The court decided the penalty of imprisonment for the accused (AA) three years for forgery and three years for bribery, with a fine of 80 thousand dirhams and the confiscation of electrical appliances.

The accused (AAA) imprisoned three years on the charge of forgery with the innocence of the charge of displaying bribery, which is the same ruling against the accused (MD), and the accused (RA) was imprisoned for three years for forgery and the same for mediation between Al -Rashi and Al -Mushriya and six months of impersonating the personality of a public employee.

It is noteworthy that the case was revealed a year ago and after the prosecution’s investigations ended, the defendants referred charges of falsifying the plans of the Fujairah municipality, presenting and accepting the bribery, and the case sessions took about seven months before the court.

The details of the case are due to the arrest of the defendants last May, and the prosecution charged them with falsifying official editors belonging to the municipality of Fujairah and violating the duties of public office by accepting bribery, and the criminal department in the Fujairah Criminal Court began to consider the case on October 26 and held the first sessions of the trial of the eight defendants in The issue of administrative corruption.

In its first sessions, the court decided to continue the imprisonment of the accused from the first to the fifth, namely (RAT), a Sudanese (iFA), (AA), citizen (M.D.), Egyptian, ( Egyptian R.T.), and the announcement of the eighth defendant (S.W.), a citizen who was absent from the session.

The facts of the case indicate that public officials are the first suspect (former director of a government department) and the second suspect (head of the department in the same department) for fraud in official editors and plans, with acceptance of cash and movables, at a time when the third defendant (merchant) participated in completion Pillars of the crime of forgery, in addition to providing money for them, in exchange for carrying out a violation of their duties.

The second and third defendants (who is the head of the department in the same department) also participated in falsifying industrial and commercial land plans, changing their data and adopting them with an official seal that returns to the department with acceptance of bribery.
