945 million dirhams to support “food security” over 3 years

Emirates Development Bank renewed its commitment to enhancing food security and supporting agricultural innovation during its participation in the fifth edition of the World Vertical Farming Exhibition in Dubai.

Given the strategic importance of the food security sector within the country’s national development agenda, the bank has provided financing worth AED 945 million since April 2021 to support the food security sector. Last year, the bank also launched the Agricultural Technology Projects Financing Program, which aims to encourage farmers to adopt the latest technologies and apply the best modern agricultural practices.

“The agricultural sector is witnessing a paradigm shift driven by technological advancements and the growing need to achieve sustainability in the food production sector,” said Ahmed Mohammed Al Naqbi, CEO of Emirates Development Bank.

“As a development bank focused on economic impact, we offer our corporate clients flexible solutions at competitive interest rates, in addition to convenient repayment periods to meet the specific needs of food security projects,” he added.
