Universities offer new academic programs that keep pace with the labor market

Several universities have introduced modern study programs that keep pace with the requirements of the labor market for the coming years, most notably the “Master of Science in Architecture” and the “Master of Science in Medical Diagnostic Imaging – MSc-MDI” program. Universities have also offered scholarships and discounts of up to 50% to new students.

In detail, the University of Sharjah has offered various academic programs in various fields, including engineering fields such as architecture, to prepare students with a high level of expertise in urban and architectural fields using theoretical and technological knowledge in studying, criticizing, analyzing and designing the built environment, including the Master of Science in Architecture program offered by the university through the College of Engineering.

The Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Abdul Wahab bin Mohammed, stressed that the college is working to launch modern academic programs to keep pace with the ongoing changes and future aspirations by providing students with the knowledge and skills that enable them to deal with various engineering fields, noting that the program includes a number of topics, including research methods in architecture, architectural studies and urban theories, building information modeling in design, construction and operation, and other uses of artificial intelligence in this field, explaining that the university provides many tools, equipment and educational resources necessary to support the teaching and learning process, the most important of which are library services, scientific laboratories and classrooms equipped with the latest technology.

For his part, the Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Imad Mushtaha, explained that the program provides students with a set of skills, including the ability to evaluate buildings and urban fabric based on relevant regulations and laws, and to work on proposing solutions for architectural and urban projects in accordance with economic, social and environmental standards and specifications, and to work on virtual models of projects using performance simulation through advanced programs, applications and technologies, adding that the courses in the Master of Science in Architecture program qualify the student to work in various fields of government institutions such as municipalities and urban planning departments, and private companies in the fields of related urban and urban consulting, and other academic and research fields.

This comes as the university announced the start of accepting students into its latest academic program for the upcoming academic year, the “Master of Science in Medical Diagnostic Imaging – MSc-MDI” program, which has been accredited by the Ministry of Education. It is an academic program offered by the College of Health Sciences with the aim of meeting the growing demand for the shortage of specialists in the field of medical diagnostic imaging.

The University of Sharjah’s Chancellor, Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, said that the University of Sharjah is working on implementing a clear strategic plan for introducing new programs every year, especially programs related to the health and medical field, noting that this plan is in line with the needs of the labor market.

In turn, Al Dhaid University launched the activities of the second open day for the specializations and programs it offers, with the aim of introducing high school students from public and private schools and their parents to the academic programs and scientific specializations offered by the university in its various colleges.

The university’s director, Dr. Aisha Bushlaibi, confirmed that the open day allows students to view the programs offered and the admission requirements, and to ask questions to faculty members representing the various colleges and programs, which helps students and their parents choose the appropriate major for them according to their skills and future labor market requirements. The open day included an exhibition in which the university’s various colleges participated, and attracted more than 300 male and female students from public and private schools.

Ajman University organized the open day the day before yesterday for students wishing to explore the university’s diverse programs in its various colleges. The university explained that it will offer a full exemption from application fees, in addition to scholarships of up to 50% on a variety of programs.
