Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has confirmed that the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), which DEWA organises annually under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has become a global platform for regional and international exhibitions and forums seeking new exhibitors and partners, and wishing to enrich its customer base in the region and around the world.
DEWA stated that WETEX, whose 26th edition will be held from 1 to 3 October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, enhances Dubai’s position as a global centre for exhibitions and conferences, and a global capital for green economy and sustainable development, thanks to its position as the largest exhibition of its kind in the region, and one of the most prominent international exhibitions specialised in the fields of water, energy, sustainability, green technologies, renewable and clean energy, green buildings, electric vehicles, and the smart grid.
She stressed that the exhibition constitutes a major impetus to highlight Dubai’s global leadership in the exhibitions sector, and to shed more light on Dubai’s cultural, commercial and investment openness, its advanced infrastructure, and its international centres specialised in the exhibitions and conferences industry.
“WETEX has always played a key role in supporting the comprehensive development process in the UAE, by supporting the exhibitions and conferences industry in the country and the Emirate of Dubai, and consolidating the UAE’s position as an international capital for the specialised events sector,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.
“WETEX’s attraction of exhibitions, forums, conferences, and companies specializing in exhibition services confirms the increasing importance of the exhibition, as it brings together thousands of local and international companies from the public and private sectors to showcase their latest technologies and innovative solutions. It is an ideal platform for investors and decision-makers to conclude deals, build partnerships, explore investment opportunities, and exchange expertise and experiences, making it an annual meeting place for those wishing to be an essential part of building a sustainable future and enhancing their readiness for future sectors,” he added.
“The exhibition is witnessing the largest participation of China in this event ever, as the Chinese pavilion occupies a large area of the exhibition floor, reaching 2,000 square meters, in addition to the participation of 200 Chinese companies,” said David Wang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MIE Group, noting that this strong presence of Chinese companies confirms their commitment to expanding their presence in the Middle East markets.
