Binance Celebrates Nine-Year Milestone with 323 Million Users and TradFi Expansion

Binance 9th anniversary: Platform hits 323 million users as crypto ownership tops 741 million

Binance 9th anniversary marks a milestone as the exchange reports 323 million registered users and expanding TradFi offerings amid surging global crypto ownership.

Binance reaches 323 million registered users worldwide

Binance celebrated its ninth anniversary by announcing more than 323 million registered users across more than 100 countries. The company said user numbers grew roughly 7% during the first half of 2026, making the platform the choice of about 43% of global cryptocurrency holders.

Cumulative trading on the platform has surpassed $156 trillion across products since inception, with the firm reporting a 7.8% rise from the $145 trillion total recorded at the end of 2025. Those figures position Binance’s lifetime volumes among the largest pools of traded financial value globally.

Global crypto ownership has expanded dramatically since 2017

Industry adoption has accelerated since Binance’s founding in July 2017, when global crypto ownership numbered fewer than six million people. Today the count of cryptocurrency holders is estimated at roughly 741 million, a structural increase that underscores growing mainstream interest.

Regulators and market infrastructures have evolved alongside this expansion, with frameworks maturing in G20 jurisdictions, the European Union, the Middle East and parts of Asia. Institutional products such as ETFs and digital asset funds now hold a material share of circulating Bitcoin, reflecting deeper integration with traditional capital markets.

Product diversification pushes Binance beyond pure crypto trading

Over the past year Binance expanded its product set to include traditional financial instruments such as stock trading, exchange-traded funds and perpetual contracts linked to pre-IPO companies. These offerings leverage Binance’s blockchain-based settlement infrastructure and stablecoin rails to provide 24/7 market access across asset classes.

The exchange reported that monthly trading volumes for traditional finance products on its platform have exceeded $80 billion since March 2026. New services launched this year — including a direct stock trading product and tokenized U.S. securities known as bStocks — reached significant asset thresholds within weeks of their debuts.

bStocks and direct stock trading show strong early adoption

Binance’s bStocks service, which offers 1:1 tokenized U.S. securities for round-the-clock trading, amassed more than $100 million in assets under management within two weeks of launch. Nearly half of bStocks trading occurred outside standard U.S. market hours, indicating heightened demand for continuous access to equities.

A separate direct stock trading product introduced in June 2026 surpassed $1 billion in assets under management within its first 30 days, while cumulative trading on that service exceeded $3 billion. Binance attributes the initial uptake to investor desire for unified access to both digital and traditional markets on a single platform.

Institutional participation and resilient trading volumes in H1 2026

Institutional user numbers on Binance rose about 9% in the first half of 2026, a sign that professional investors are broadening their exposure to digital assets and multi-asset trading venues. The platform reported approximately $11.4 trillion in trading during H1 2026, contributing to the $156.4 trillion lifetime total.

Executives framed recent growth as evidence of structural engagement rather than short-term speculation, noting that activity held up despite market headwinds earlier in the year. The data points to a diversified revenue mix and stronger institutional flows across both crypto and TradFi product lines.

“Built by You” community campaign and regional compliance steps

To mark its ninth year, Binance launched a global campaign titled “Built by You,” designed to celebrate the user community and showcase the platform’s evolution. The initiative includes interactive experiences across nine themed landmarks in a virtual “Binance City” and prize pools totaling $4.5 million, the company said.

Binance also reiterated that availability of specific products varies by jurisdiction and noted its licensing in the UAE market as a free zone entity regulated by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), excluding the Dubai International Financial Centre. The company highlighted regional compliance and localized product rollouts as central to its expansion strategy.

Binance’s anniversary release included a reminder about the risks of virtual asset trading, advising users to assess their financial situation and seek independent advice where appropriate.

The ninth anniversary marks a turning point for Binance as it positions itself to bridge digital and traditional finance, pursue broader global reach, and continue building services intended to attract billions of users worldwide.
