Al-Sir Marine Company for Marine Equipment and Supplies, a subsidiary of the International Holding Company, received the tankers “Betelgeuse” and “Bellatrix”, which are the first two tankers received by the company, as part of a group consisting of six medium-tonnage tankers, built by the Korean company “Ki Shipbuilding”.
The company stated, in a statement yesterday, that this new addition to its fleet comes to meet the growing demand for transporting clean petroleum products and chemicals.
The contract to build these ships was concluded in November 2022, when Al-Sir Marine ordered four IMO tankers, followed by an order for two additional tankers in February 2023.
This major expansion of the Al-Sair Marine fleet strengthens its position as a major partner and leading investor in the maritime sector in the UAE, as the company has allocated major investments worth more than 1.45 billion dirhams, in both Abu Dhabi Ports and ADNOC Logistics Services.
