The Sharjah Police General Command revealed in its statistical report issued by the Traffic and Patrols Department during the first half of this year that death rates resulting from traffic accidents per 100,000 population decreased by 15% compared to the same period last year, and a decrease in road traffic accidents per 10,000 vehicles. by 9%; This positive improvement is due to the intensive traffic campaigns implemented by the Traffic and Patrols Department in cooperation with its strategic partners with the aim of enhancing traffic safety levels on the road.

Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, Colonel Muhammad Ali Al Naqbi, stressed Sharjah Police’s keenness and commitment to enhancing awareness and traffic safety with the public. Being a shared responsibility borne by both vehicle drivers and road users, traffic awareness is an imperative necessity to achieve security and safety. This contributes to reducing the rate of accidents that result in deaths and serious accidents, and makes roads safer.

Allay praised the complementary roles with partners in reducing traffic accidents to which road users are exposed through continuous awareness programs and organizing comprehensive field and media campaigns in various languages ​​across various social media platforms. This enhanced the delivery of awareness messages to the largest possible segment of the public, calling on vehicle drivers and road users to adhere to traffic rules, adhere to set speeds, avoid distractions other than the road while driving, and pay attention to road surprises. This is to preserve their safety and the safety of others, and to avoid traffic accidents and the injuries and loss of life and property they cause, and the negative effects these accidents have on society.
