Public Prosecution statistics indicate that the total number of passports that were held pending cases during the past year amounted to 50,000 passports, but under the initiative, data of residents or visitors will be stored on the Public Prosecution’s electronic system, which will contribute to reducing this number of passports by more than 70. % during the first year of its implementation, according to expected results.

According to the Public Prosecution, the initiative achieves several goals, including humanitarian aspects, namely reducing the imprisonment of defendants in simple cases, such as checks, which helps them solve their problems, in addition to reducing the expenses of arresting or imprisoning defendants, in addition to canceling bail by seizing passports, and ensuring Implementing provisions, to achieve a higher goal, which is customer happiness.

In addition, the Public Prosecution presented, during its platform in Dubai, the “Immediate Implementation Initiative”, which is a smart mechanism to directly implement the rulings issued by the judges, and depends on the session secretaries completing the procedures immediately in the courtrooms, presenting them to the judges for approval, and initiating the implementation of the rulings as soon as they are pronounced. And coordinating with the relevant banks to provide an employee to collect fines in the same place.

The initiative aims to speed up the implementation of rulings issued by judges immediately after the ruling is issued, by having those executing the rulings complete the procedures directly in the courtrooms, at a rate of 75%, contributing to raising the happiness rate of customers by 87%, and speeding up the release of convicts immediately after the ruling is issued.

According to previous procedures before implementing the initiative, it took about eight hours, starting with the judge adjourning the session and issuing the rulings, sending the accused to the prosecution’s custody, then presenting the files to the judges to sign the minutes of the rulings, completing the procedures by the secretaries, and sending the files to the enforcement department. Judgments were issued to issue an execution order, then begin execution and bring the accused back from detention. However, after implementing the initiative, all of these procedures were reduced to three steps of no more than two hours, by providing all the facilities and tools necessary to collect violations and implement the ruling directly.
