Dubai International Airport has received global recognition for its efforts to reduce carbon emissions, as it received “Transformation” certification from the fourth level of the Airport Carbon Emissions Certification Program of the Airports Council International, thus becoming, as of September 2024, among the top 5% of participating airports from All over the world have achieved this achievement.
Dubai Airports stated in a statement yesterday that the “Transformation” accreditation is granted to airports that have succeeded in reducing emissions and driving systematic change with partners, noting that it plays an important role in supporting the UAE’s strategy for climate neutrality 2050, through its commitment to reducing the impact of emissions. Dubai Airports explained that the Airport Carbon Emissions Certification Program is the only global accreditation program for managing carbon emissions in airports, as it provides a strict framework for airports to measure, evaluate and improve their emissions management practices, pointing out that obtaining the fourth level transformation accreditation confirms Its pioneering position in the field of sustainability makes Dubai International Airport a role model in the global airport sector.
