The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences and the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) honored the winners of the Hamdan – ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research, at a ceremony held yesterday, as part of the activities of the 19th Conference of Ministers Responsible for Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab World, which It is held in Abu Dhabi.

The winners were honored by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme President of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Ould Amar, Director General of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization – ALECSO, and the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Manan Al Awar, and Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, in the presence of a number of dignitaries. And officials in the field of higher education at the level of Arab countries.

The ceremony witnessed the announcement of the “Hamdan/ALECSO Award for Digital Innovations in Education in Arab Countries,” an initiative aimed at encouraging innovation and honoring innovators.

In his speech delivered by Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme Chairman of the Foundation, affirmed that education in the Emirates is witnessing an exceptional renaissance, thanks to the great care it receives. With it from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, President The Council of Ministers and the Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and their brothers, Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates.

He said: “As we celebrate today by honoring the winners of the Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research, we celebrate the success of the partnership between the ALECSO organization and the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, which began at the initiative of the late father Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may God have mercy on him. Its vision was inspired by the noble values ​​aimed at building Arab education capable of facing cultural and social challenges, especially in light of the accelerating digital revolution, allowing Arab societies Greater opportunities for excellence and sustainability.”

He added that from this standpoint, we worked with ALECSO to enhance bilateral cooperation in serving Arab education, through a new project aimed at improving and developing the educational environment, towards interaction and keeping pace with the digital age, and encouraging creative minds and distinguished ideas. I am pleased to announce the launch of the Hamdan/ALECSO Award. For digital innovations in education at the level of Arab countries, out of our belief in the role of technology in advancing education and building a knowledge society that contributes to the renaissance of our nation and its advancement among nations.

Dr. Mohammed Ould Aamar thanked Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his generous sponsorship of this ceremony, and the Foundation’s family for their efforts in strengthening cooperation with ALECSO through this distinguished award, praising the vital role of innovation in education in keeping pace with technological and scientific developments. This enhances the educational system’s response to the needs of the times.

He pointed out the importance of distinguished educational research in improving education and enhancing its efficiency, as it contributes to the development of teaching methods and the development of education policies, and enhances the ability of teachers to adapt to the needs of individual students. He stressed ALECSO’s keenness to support educational research by publishing it in its journals and organizing awards and competitions. Which motivates researchers to be creative.

The ceremony witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Foundation and ALECSO to launch the Hamdan/ALECSO Award for digital innovations in education at the level of Arab countries, which targets individuals and institutions in the Arab world.

Dr. Zainab Hassan Hamed Ali Al-Salami, from Ain Shams University in Egypt, won with a research on “Building a model for employing generative artificial intelligence in project learning in teacher preparation programs and its impact on innovative outcomes and passion.”

Dr. Rahma bint Sulaiman bin Hadi Zakir and Professor Hassan bin Dhafer bin Hassan Al-Zahrani from Saudi Arabia won a research paper on “The effect of employing cognitive journeys enhanced by artificial intelligence tools in developing academic achievement and improving the attitude towards mathematics among secondary school students.”

Professor Dr. Abdulaziz bin Faleh bin Ibrahim Al-Aseel, from King Faisal University, also won for his research on “an educational program based on metaverse technology and measuring its effectiveness in developing future digital skills and the trend towards enhancing them among university students.”

A team of researchers from King Abdulaziz University, including Dr. Iman bint Ali bin Muhammad Al-Muhammadi, Ms. Malak bint Ali Al-Fahmi Al-Zahrani, Ms. Bashayer bint Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Qarni, Dr. Irada bint Omar Hamad, and Ms. Joanna bint Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Juhani, won a research paper on “ The use of artificial intelligence applications by graduate students in scientific research, the extent of its spread, and its relationship to perceived fraud syndrome.
