The National Food Safety Committee discusses the development of regulatory systems

During its meeting, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, the National Food Safety Committee discussed ways to develop food control systems and mechanisms, in addition to reviewing the implementation of the 2024-2026 action plan.

Al Nuaimi stressed the continued development of a healthy and safe food environment, in line with international best practices.

He said in a press statement that food safety represents one of the most important pillars of the National Food Security Strategy 2051, and the UAE applies the best and latest international requirements and standards regarding food safety. He added that with full cooperation between all local authorities, the state will be more able to develop innovative mechanisms to ensure food safety.

The meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi, dealt with following up on the implementation of the initiatives and activities included in the action plan for the period 2024-2026, and major axes that contribute to strengthening the food safety system were reviewed by enhancing awareness programs and developing supervisory programs.
