The Public Prosecution in Ras Al Khaimah announced the completion of 4,426 “remote” investigation sessions since the beginning of the “Corona” pandemic until this month, as it achieved a 100% rate of working remotely in investigations, interviewing inmates, and examining cases.

The Director of the Support Services Department and Head of the Innovation Team at the Public Prosecution in Ras Al Khaimah, Sumaya Saif Al Mutawa, told Emirates Today that the Public Prosecution presented five innovations during Innovation Week, during its launch of the virtual exhibition event, namely: the Lawyers Affairs Service and the Smart Meetings System. , a digital integration platform, a monitor project, and a self-service device.

She explained that the Public Prosecution launched the electronic system for the Bar Committee within the Lawyers Affairs Service, which depends on developing the committee’s work through an innovation that regulates the work of lawyers through certificates called “QR codes,” which allow matching official certificates and verifying their authenticity anywhere in the world.

She added that the second innovation relates to smart meetings, which is the only smart system at the level of government departments nationwide, through which meetings can be organized and coordinated, their minutes and documents saved, invitations sent, halls reserved, tasks distributed, implementation followed up, and results recorded without printing any papers, as the Public Prosecution keeps It has sole ownership rights to the software for its implementation. She pointed out that the third innovation is the digital integration platform to link the electronic systems of the Public Prosecution at the Ministry of Interior. It is the first system at the local and regional levels, as the system allows the two parties to exchange information through smart information fields around the clock without stopping, shortening the time for completing joint services from days. To minutes, by 99%, she added that the system reduces procedures by 66%, as the customer satisfaction rate with the innovation reached 96.5%.

She pointed out that the prosecution, as part of the fourth innovation, will launch the robot “Rasid”, after modifying it to recognize the names of the parties to the cases, their gender, ages, dates of birth and basic information, in addition to recognizing numbers, dates and characteristics. It can also read files and be able to compare the data recorded in the police reports and listed on the police records. The Public Prosecution database, and she continued that the robot’s primary task is to detect human errors in databases and deal with them. She stated that the fifth innovation relates to the self-service device, which is an invention registered in the name of the Public Prosecution with an official certificate issued by the Ministry of Economy, and allows the customer to provide his services, pay their fees, and obtain them in a few minutes. She added that the self-service completion device is the first device provided by the Public Prosecution at the state level, as the system allows the customer to enter the case number in the self-service and register his appeal against the case, whether at the level of litigation by appeal or by cassation, without coming to the Public Prosecution building. She stated that four devices have been provided for the electronic self-service system, at the emirate level, the first at the headquarters of the penal institution, where the inmate is allowed to submit his appeal against the ruling via the electronic system without resorting to lawyers to submit the appeal, which saves the inmate the financial costs of hiring a lawyer to appeal the ruling. The case is decided at the first instance or on appeal. It also saves him time in completing the appeal within the specified legal time.

She indicated that two devices were provided in the external centers of the Public Prosecution, and a fourth device was provided at the headquarters of the Public Prosecution Department in the city of Ras Al Khaimah.
