His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dr. Ashraf Ghani discussed ways to expand the horizons of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of investment and building an economic partnership based on common benefits for both sides.
The conversation between His Highness and the Afghan President focused on the possibility of joint investment in the agricultural, renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, and mutual benefit from the expertise and human and material energies available in the two countries, especially at the private sector level.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the economic, development and humanitarian fields, in addition to efforts to support reconstruction, development and peace in Afghanistan.
The meeting also touched on a number of issues of common concern, especially with regard to efforts made to combat terrorism and extremism, and achieve security, stability, development and peace for the peoples of the region and the world.

At the conclusion of their meeting, the two sides stressed the two countries’ efforts to develop bilateral relations in various fields of cooperation that serve their common interests and contribute to efforts to achieve development and stability in the region. They also stressed the importance of redoubling the efforts of the international community to achieve peace and security, and to consolidate the values ​​of tolerance, dialogue and coexistence among the various peoples of the world. .
The Afghan President wrote a speech in the register of VIP visitors to the Presidential Palace, in which he expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE, noting the friendly relations and cooperation that bring together the two friendly countries and peoples, wishing these relations further growth and development in areas that serve common interests. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ghani witnessed the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the UAE and Afghanistan in the educational, cultural and sports fields, in addition to the energy, mining and agricultural sectors, which aim to enhance and develop joint cooperation between the two countries. The memorandums of understanding that the two sides signed yesterday, at the Presidential Palace, included four memorandums in the fields of education, mining, energy and sports, signed by the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Anwar bin Muhammad Gargash, while they were signed by the Acting Ministry of Finance, Professor Muhammad Humayun Qayumi, on the Afghanistan side. And a memorandum of understanding in the cultural fields, signed by the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Noura bint Muhammad Al Kaabi, and the Acting Ministry of Finance, Professor Muhammad Humayun Qayomi, in addition to a memorandum of understanding. For cooperation in the agricultural sector, it was signed by the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, and Professor Muhammad Humayun Qayumi.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received President Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ghani, and upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, an official reception ceremony took place, where the national anthem of the Republic of Afghanistan was played, while artillery fired 21 rounds in salute to the country’s guest.
