School administrations stressed the need for students to wear long, warm winter clothes, due to the noticeable drop in temperatures during the winter, especially in the early morning as children start for school, noting that providing a healthy and comfortable environment inside the classroom, in addition to paying attention to keeping students warm from the early morning. They contribute to increasing their concentration and preventing them from contracting seasonal diseases, which has a positive impact on their academic achievement and performance.
The administrator in one of the private schools in the Emirate of Fujairah, Alaa Muhammad, explained that “school administrations work to provide a suitable school environment for students, whether in terms of asking parents to wear appropriate clothes and close air conditioning devices and windows, in addition to always directing students to the importance of wearing appropriate heavy clothing, And make sure to warm their bodies before entering school,” while kindergarten teacher, Asmaa Ali Muhammad, confirmed that committing to wearing winter clothes helps students focus during the semester and maintain their health. Their safety and reduces the incidence of influenza and colds in light of low temperatures, especially during the early morning hours.
In addition, the parent of a primary school student, Fatima Muhammad, said, “It is important for students to be in good health during the school day, and this requires that we take care of them in the morning by providing long underwear and blankets to protect them from the cold, and we urge schools to take this into account.” aspect during the winter by allowing the purchase of coats that are warmer than school uniform coats.”
The guardian of a primary school student, Ahmed Rashid, said: “I always make sure to buy heavy clothes for my children at the beginning of the winter, in addition to suitable coats to protect them from the cold.”
He added: “We cannot ignore the importance of heavy winter clothing, as it ensures that children stay warm throughout the school day, whether they are inside the classroom or outdoors during school activities.”
Meanwhile, the guardian of a kindergarten student, Khaled Al Shamsi, suggested an additional step to enhance the protection of students from the cold, saying: “The directives sent by schools are a good step, but I believe that the ideal solution requires providing heating inside school buses, especially since children spend a long time in them.” While driving them to school, which makes them more vulnerable to the cold.”
Al Shamsi added: “Children sitting for a period of time in unheated buses may affect their health, so providing heating systems in buses will ensure a comfortable start to the school day for them and reduce their exposure to colds.”
