In a press conference held the day before yesterday, the Sharjah Sports Council revealed the details of the international tour in its tenth edition, as it confirmed the participation of 174 cyclists, representing 29 teams and teams from 23 countries, for a distance of 526.26 km, distributed over five stages, indicating that the tour This year will witness activities accompanying its stages and others that have not occurred before, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Tour.

The Sharjah International Cycling Tour 2025 will be held from January 24 to 28, and it is an exceptional edition on the occasion of the event reaching its first decade, as a new cup was unveiled for the winner.

The director of the Sharjah Tour, Dr. Yasser Al-Dokhi, told Emirates Al-Youm: “The tour plays an important role in promoting the emirate in terms of advertising and tourism by showcasing more than 200 of its tourist, heritage and modern landmarks, and this year we were keen for the tour to be exceptional on the occasion of the decade’s anniversary. Its first launch, it will witness the participation of 29 teams, including five national teams, and the presence of 174 riders, which is the largest Since the start of the tour, there will be activities accompanying the event.”

He continued: “There are five stages of the tour, and there will be a round that will witness the participation of people of determination, as well as young people, provided that in future editions the number of rounds in which these groups appear will increase, and the cycling team will participate in the tour, in addition to the presence of five local teams, which is certainly good contact.” For riders and clubs in such rafts.”

Egypt, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Greece, Mauritius, and Rwanda, and with them from the country are teams: Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, Shabab Al Ahli Club, Khor Fakkan Club, Dubai Police, and Airwerx.

Stages of circumambulation

– The first stage, “Excellence and Creativity,” begins at two in the afternoon on Friday, January 24, for a distance of 132.91 km, from Al Majaz Theater in Sharjah and ends at the Hanging Gardens in Kalba.

– The second stage, “Central Region,” begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, for a distance of 127 km, from the wheat farm in Mleiha and ends at Al Dhaid University.

The third stage, “Science and Culture,” begins at 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 26, for a distance of 11.16 km. It begins and ends in front of the American University in the University City of Sharjah. On the sidelines of this stage, two races will be held for the disabled and youth, starting at nine in the morning.

– The fourth stage, “Eastern Region”, begins at 11 am on Monday, January 27, for a distance of 132.32 km, in front of Al Hafiya Lake in Kalba and ends at the tow rest area in Khor Fakkan.

The fifth and final stage, “Past and Future,” begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, for a distance of 121.87 km, from the heritage village in Al Hamriya and ends at Aljada in Sharjah.
