Education is the basic foundation for building advanced societies

The Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Jamal bin Huwaireb, stressed that education is the basic foundation for building advanced societies, and the ideal tool for opening horizons of creativity and innovation.

In his statement on the occasion of International Education Day, which falls on January 24 of each year, Bin Huwaireb renewed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting global efforts aimed at providing high-quality education for all and promoting initiatives that are in line with the sustainable development goals, which confirms the pioneering role of Dubai and the UAE in stimulating… Cognitive progress and education worldwide.

He explained that the Foundation places upon itself the task of developing the skills of young generations, and enabling them to participate effectively in the development process of their countries, by providing equal opportunities to obtain knowledge and improving the quality of education. He pointed to the great interest achieved by the “Future Skills for All” initiative, which resulted in the launch of the Foundation. The United Nations Development Program and the “Future Skills Academy” project, in cooperation with the global educational platform “Coursera”, aim to provide free educational and training opportunities for 10 million learners by 2030.

He praised the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and her constant support for the Foundation’s initiatives to raise the efficiency of education and build a bright future for future generations, including the Future Skills Academy project, and activities aimed at developing this sector, the most recent of which was “ The Third UNESCO Global Conference on Open Educational Resources,” as Her Highness’s support for all initiatives contributed to empowering youth within Dubai’s vision, to strengthen the education sector and achieve comprehensive development goals in Dubai and the UAE.
