A citizen invents a “robot” to clean the facades of skyscrapers

Citizen Ahmed Al Shehhi invented “a robot to clean the facades of buildings and skyscrapers automatically, 10 times faster than traditional methods, and with high quality and safety standards. He obtained a patent for it as an Emirati product that competes with the best international devices used in this specialty.”

Al Shehhi told Emirates Today that the idea came to him when he found the process of manually cleaning the facades of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers fraught with risks, in addition to being a slow process, requiring a long time to complete, in addition to violating the privacy of residential apartments, in addition to its high cost. Al Shehhi said that he invented a “robot” that is distinguished by its ability to clean 300 square meters per hour, while between 30 and 40 square meters are cleaned using traditional methods during the same time, in addition to consuming a much smaller amount of water than usual methods, in addition to its specifications. Safety, as it is controlled remotely, without the need to put a human element inside it and climb to high altitudes.

The idea of the device is to pass a cloth with a high ability to remove impurities from the glass facade, then the cloth is washed and dried in the device and the cloth is sent back to the facade. It contains a small water tank and a filtration mechanism to recycle the water used in the washing process, and a group of fans provides the necessary propulsion to make the device, and then the cloth, adhere to the facade of the building. The device also contains a lifting mechanism that provides vertical movement for it, and the device is controlled by an operator. On the floor.
