A historic achievement…the padel team is “fifth in the world”

The national team won fifth place in the World Padel Championship in the Qatari capital, Doha, after defeating Brazil, ranked fifth in the world, yesterday (2-0) in the final competitions, in the presence of Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Federation, and Ismail Al Hashemi. Second Vice President of the Federation, and a number of sports figures and officials in the country.

The UAE achieved an unprecedented historical achievement for the Arab and Asian teams, by achieving fifth place after an honorable performance in the World Cup against teams with a high international ranking in the game of padel.

Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum congratulated the players after the end of the match on their important victory and their heroic performance in the World Padel Championship, wishing them more successes in the upcoming competitions.

The Emirati fans present in Doha – to support the team – were keen to salute the players, after the fighting spirit and honorable level they presented in the tournament.

The national team settled the confrontation against Brazil in two sets to none, after the duo Inigo Goy and Sergio Icardo won the first match 6-0 and 6-1, and the duo Arnau Ayatz and Fran Jurado prevailed in the second match 6-0 and 7-6.
