The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and the company “Amadeus”, which specializes in the travel sector technologies, signed a strategic memorandum of understanding to facilitate the establishment of an integrated system in Dubai to design rapid primary models for technical solutions in the travel sector, within the framework of Dubai’s efforts to establish its position as a global center for innovation in this field.
The department stated, in a statement yesterday, that the new partnership enhances the relationship between the two parties, focuses on developing travel technologies, improving the experience of Dubai visitors, and enhancing its tourism system, thus providing a new platform to build on the success achieved by Dubai by receiving 18.72 million international visitors during the year 2024.
The memorandum signed the Executive Director of the Dubai Tourism and Trade Marketing Corporation of the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, Issam Kazem, and the Vice President of the Travel Unit and Administrative Director of the European, Middle East and Africa region at Amadeus, Maher Koufa.
The joint cooperation will contribute to supporting the goals of the Dubai Economic Agency «D33) to enhance Dubai’s position as a leading global business and entertainment.
The two parties are currently cooperating in many areas, including data and strategic analyzes related to travel, as well as travel ads addressed to the target travelers, as well as marketing companies in the sector.
The new partnership contributes to the expansion of the horizons of their joint cooperation between them, as it paves the way for “Amadeus” to establish the “Center for Excellence” in Dubai, which will carry out a number of initiatives related to improving passengers ‘journey by focusing on the use of biological standards, as well as upgrading visitors’ experiences in airports, and management Access, inflammatory electronic payment services, air capacity development.
The partnership also contributes to supporting local and international startups, and improving access to travel related to travel, hospitality and tourist destinations.
