The Dubai Maritime Authority, at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, announced the adoption of a mandatory plan for managing maritime traffic during New Year’s Eve 2025, as part of efforts aimed at enhancing the safety of maritime navigation and regulating movement during New Year’s Eve, which witnesses an intensity of maritime activities.

Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime Authority, stressed that the safety of maritime navigation is a national responsibility that requires the cooperation of the public with the police and work teams from other departments that are members of the Events Security Committee to ensure that they emerge in the best possible way, indicating that the plan aims to To ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency in managing waterways, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to its leadership in the field of maritime safety.

He said, “Cooperation and coordination between all concerned parties represent the basic foundation for the success of this plan, which requires everyone to adhere to their responsibilities and contribute to enhancing maritime safety on this exceptional occasion, which requires us to follow best practices and ensure the safety of individuals and property, which enhances the UAE’s position as a global destination.” “Advanced management of marine activities.”

The plan includes a set of regulatory procedures and binding directives that marine vessels must follow carefully, as it includes compliance with instructions issued by marinas and sea ports, and adherence to international laws to prevent collisions at sea. It also called on all seafarers to plan their trips in advance, in a way that ensures compatibility with the established plan. Taking into account the prevailing weather conditions, and ensuring the ability of marine vessels to operate within safe operational limits.

Within the framework of this plan, the main marinas, such as Hamriya Port, Dubai Creek, Port Rashid, fishing ports, and Jebel Ali Port, were mandated to inform existing ships of the new procedures. Shipowners, agents, marinas, and yacht clubs were also asked to inform captains of marine craft of the content of these instructions to ensure Full commitment.

The Authority called on all maritime means to fully adhere to the plan and follow the instructions issued by the marinas, in line with the plan, and direct seafarers to the utmost importance of maritime navigation safety and adherence to the best maritime practices at all times, including the Dubai Maritime Authority’s plan for maritime traffic on New Year’s Eve 2025.
