Al Dhaid team gained a valuable point at the start of the new season of the First Division Football League, after achieving a 1-1 draw with its guest, Gulf United, in the match that brought them together yesterday.
Al Dhaid’s goal was scored by Guinean player Aboubakar Demba in the 78th minute, after Gulf United had taken an early lead through Irishman Clem Strobridge Simon in the 14th minute.
The second match between Gulf FC and Al Dhafra, which was scheduled for yesterday in the same round, was cancelled due to Gulf FC not completing the registration of its players in the Football Association system for administrative reasons. At the same time, a source confirmed to “Emarat Al Youm” that the club had asked the Football Association to postpone the match to be held at another time, without a decision being issued by the Competitions Committee to accept the postponement or consider the team to have lost the match.
The round matches continue with four confrontations, starting at 5:35 pm today, as Hatta hosts its guest Fujairah at Hamdan Bin Rashid Stadium at Hatta Club, while Masfout hosts its guest Emirates in Umm Al Quwain, and Dibba Al Fujairah meets Al Hamriyah at its stadium.
Today’s matches will conclude at 5:40 pm, when Al Arabi hosts its counterpart United in Umm Al Quwain.
