Director of the International Protection Center, Colonel Abdullah Al-Khayyat, told Emirates Al-Youm that the positive aspect of this important case is that the father of this young man was the one who reported him after noticing disturbing changes in him, which included the use of drugs, isolation, rapid anger and irritability, so he initiated a search. He left his room and found an empty plastic envelope under the cover of his smartphone, which aroused his doubts and fears. He informed the center, and several surprises were revealed, including the student being defrauded by a drug dealer via social media, and selling him a suspicious item that caused him to lose consciousness and put him in danger.
In detail, Colonel Abdullah Al-Khayyat revealed that drug dealers are always trying to invent new methods to spread their poisons in a way that does not arouse suspicion, including the method witnessed in this incident, which is A4-sized printing paper saturated with artificial narcotic substances that are stronger in their effects than hashish, so that the user By cutting it into small pieces and smoking it with a medwakh.
He added that this incident began when a father became suspicious of the behavior of his son, who excelled academically, when he noticed that he had begun to use medwakh and sleep for several hours, in addition to his tension, irritability, and anger, and spending a long time outside the home. He decided to examine his behavior, due to his extreme concern for him, and searched his room and his personal belongings. In search of a clue that would lead him to know the disturbing changes that had occurred in his son, he found a plastic envelope hidden under the cover of his phone. Although it was empty, he was not comfortable with its presence and decided to resort to the International Hemaya Center for reassurance, and to benefit from Article 43 of the Anti-Narcotics Law, which exempts… The drug abuser is subject to criminal liability if one of his relatives reports him, once it is confirmed that his son has actually been involved in the drug abuse trap.
Al-Khayyat pointed out that when the center’s experts dealt with the case, it became clear that the outstanding student used to go out with a group of bad friends, one of whom used drugs in secret, and he deliberately dragged his friends, one by one, into using this white paper saturated with narcotic substances using “drugs.”
He continued that the young man told the specialists at the center that he contacted a person through a social media network and bought from him “a white piece of paper that was supposedly saturated with drugs. He transferred the money to him and cut it into small pieces. When he lit the first stick to smoke it, he fell unconscious, and suffered from a severe headache and a state of anxiety.” Lack of concentration after he regained consciousness, and later discovered that the piece of paper he had smoked was an ordinary piece of paper, and that he had been cheated and deceived, fortunately, which made him feel sad and frustrated. Al-Khayyat explained that the son was provided with guidance and counsel, making him aware of the consequences of addiction, referring him to treatment and psychological rehabilitation, and adding his name to the list of beneficiaries of Article 43 of the UAE Anti-Narcotics Law, stressing that he responded well to the containment process and felt that there was someone who cared about him and was keen on his future.
He stressed that there is an ongoing hidden war with drug dealers and dealers, in light of their circumvention of the laws and their constant attempts to manufacture narcotic substances that are not included in the drug schedules, in addition to their innovation of methods of abuse that do not arouse suspicion or expose their users to legal consequences, indicating that the state’s control agencies are confronting Strong for all of these methods.
