Abu Dhabi Chamber establishes a working group for “Information Technology”


The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the establishment of a new working group specializing in the field of information and communications technology, in a step aimed at supporting the growth of the sector and finding effective solutions to address the challenges it faces. The formation of the group is part of the Chamber’s initiatives that reflect its commitment and keenness to enhance the dynamic business system in the emirate.

The group, headed by Dr. Oliver Elbrecht, President of Siemens Advanta Middle East, includes a number of representatives of the ICT sector, including sector leaders, technology experts, and decision and policy makers. The group will focus on formulating development strategies that enhance the levels of innovation in the sector and contribute to Consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a major center for technological excellence. Based on the Chamber’s keenness to support businesses, the initiative also aims to find solutions to the main challenges facing the sector, thus paving the way for sector companies to expand in local, regional and international markets.

In line with Abu Dhabi’s transformation towards a smart, diversified and sustainable economy, working groups affiliated with the Chamber were formed to be able to support the business system by exchanging knowledge visions and technological expertise. Through it, the Chamber will contribute to consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for investment, innovation and business growth.

The Second Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Board of Directors and Managing Director, Shams Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, said: “The launch of the ICT working group is consistent with the Chamber’s commitment to activating the (policy support) pillar, which is one of the main pillars of the new road map launched by the Chamber for the years (2025-2020). 2027), noting that we seek through this launch to consolidate means of communication and cooperation between the business community and decision makers and to contribute to building a dynamic business system that is in line with economic aspirations and trends.
