Abu Dhabi Police issued 670 traffic tickets to those who did not comply with the guidelines for Union Day celebrations


The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police announced that it had issued 670 tickets for throwing waste by “spraying spray on the roads” by drivers, passengers and pedestrians who did not adhere to the guidelines for the 53rd Union Day celebrations in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Police, through its website on (X), called for the need to be aware of the importance of preserving the bright cultural appearance of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by avoiding throwing waste from vehicles on the road while driving, in which Article 71 of the Traffic Law applies, and violating it is a fine of 1,000 dirhams and recording 6 traffic points. On the drivers who cause this violation, stressing its keenness to continue its efforts in educating drivers and road users to avoid uncivilized behaviors committed by them. Some of them are careless and cause environmental distortion.

She urged vehicle drivers to be committed and alert their passengers to the need to take into account environmental safety and public health and to participate in promoting positive behaviors, explaining that this behavior may cause environmental pollution, stressing the importance of cooperation with the competent authorities in paying attention to health, safety and the environment.

The Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police had identified 14 prohibited behaviors within the instructions, requirements and legal controls for celebrating and decorating vehicles during the country’s celebrations of Union Day (53). The prohibited behaviors included: preventing the holding of marches and random gatherings, adherence of celebrants to traffic rules and police officers’ instructions, and not using types of Spraying (party spray) by the driver, passenger, or pedestrian, not obliterating the front or rear number plate, changing the color of the vehicle, or darkening or tinting the windshield, not Placing any stickers, signs or logos of any kind on the vehicle, except stickers for Union Day, in accordance with the rules and conditions, not loading the vehicle more than the permitted number, and not leaving the windows and sunroof of the vehicle at all.

The instructions also included: not to make fundamental changes to the vehicle or introduce unauthorized additions that cause noise or affect visibility, not to disrupt traffic or close the road to emergency vehicles (ambulances – civil defense – police patrols), and not to perform showy movements on the roads. Internal and external.

The Ministry of Interior also directed not to cover the side, front and rear windows of the vehicle with stickers or to put a sunshade on the front, which leads to blocking the view, not to wear scarves except for those related to Union Day, not to raise the flags of other countries except for the flag of the United Arab Emirates, and not to raise the volume of chants and songs except for those related to Eid. Union. The Ministry of Interior also prohibited decoration shop owners and drivers from installing any poster or flag except for the flag of the United Arab Emirates or posters related to Union Day.
