Additional flight to Colombo starting January 2, 2025


Emirates Airlines announced the operation of an additional flight between Colombo and Dubai, starting January 2, 2025. The new flight will contribute to increasing seat capacity on this route by 30%, and supports Sri Lanka’s plans to significantly increase the number of inbound tourism in 2025.

Emirates Airlines stated, in a statement, that the additional flight will operate six times a week until March 31, 2025, and as of April 1, 2025, Emirates Airlines will operate a seventh weekly flight, on Wednesdays, with a modified departure time.

According to Emirates Airlines, the additional flight accommodates up to 360 passengers, and is divided into eight suites in first class, 42 seats in business class, and 310 seats in economy class.

It is noteworthy that “Emirates Airlines” began its operations to Sri Lanka in April 1986, and supported the tourism and export industries in the country with passenger and cargo services, and transported more than 12 million passengers to and from Colombo since the start of operations, and with the four daily flights, “Emirates Airlines” will provide more than 2,800 passengers. A daily seat to and from Colombo, and up to 160 tons of cargo on the same flights.
