ADNOC Drilling confirmed that the AD-300, the first of six next-generation rigs, was completed and deployed ahead of plan, marking a notable milestone in the company’s fleet modernisation. The rig’s early delivery allows operations to start sooner and supports ADNOC’s broader plans to expand capacity and deploy advanced offshore solutions.

Rig Dimensions and Engineering Profile

The AD-300 measures about 50 metres in length—roughly equivalent to a 15‑storey building—and weighs circa 2,000 tonnes. The rig combines compact engineering with high-capacity systems designed for demanding offshore environments.

Its design integrates hybrid power capabilities that can be connected to onshore electrical networks, allowing reduced fuel consumption and lower operational emissions. Those features are intended to meet stricter environmental targets while improving cost efficiency during long‑term field campaigns.

The AD-300 is the first unit delivered under a AED 5.7 billion contract for six next‑generation rigs, a programme awarded to ADNOC Marine across 2024 and 2025. ADNOC Drilling reported the rig has already been stationed on one of ADNOC’s artificial islands as the initial operating unit in the fleet renewal plan.

Early delivery accelerates the programme’s revenue timeline and reduces the interval between capital outlay and cash generation. The commercial structure is intended to support ADNOC’s strategy to scale production while modernising the services and assets that support field operations.
