The Russian “Tanai” team won the title of the UAE International Skydiving Championship 2025, which concluded its competitions yesterday, Sunday, with the participation of more than 200 jumpers, both male and female, from around the world.
The tournament included various competitions, most notably the indoor group formation for free jumping with the participation of teams consisting of 16 and 8 jumpers, in addition to the double event. The competitions also included individual pursuit races, a relay race, and the final race.
The Russian team achieved an exceptional performance during the final stage, as it took the lead and won the gold medal, winning the championship title and the overall ranking cup.
The Kazakh Nomads team came in second place to win silver medals, while the Belarusian “Erosian” team came in third place and won bronze medals.
The tournament began on January 20 with its first stage at Clym Yas Island, where wind tunnel competitions were held, which witnessed strong competitions in group formations. The competitions later moved to the second stage at “Sky Dive” in the Margham area in Dubai, which was characterized by outdoor skydiving competitions. .
After the conclusion of the competitions, officials of the Emirates Air Sports Federation, led by Yousef Hassan Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Federation, Mohammed Yousef Abdul Rahman, Secretary-General, Abdullah Murad, Member of the Board of Directors, and Andrei Barbash, Head of the Russian delegation, crowned the winners.
Andrei Barbash expressed his great happiness for his team’s victory in the tournament, noting that he has good memories of the Emirates, where he lived his childhood.
Barbash praised the distinguished infrastructure that the UAE possesses, which contributed greatly to the success of the tournament, expressing his hope to strengthen cooperation with the Emirates Air Sports Federation to develop the game globally.
