This came while His Highness chaired the General Assembly meeting of the National Olympic Committee, which was held yesterday in Dubai, during which His Highness’s vision for the future of the Olympic movement in the UAE for the 2024-2028 Olympic period was reviewed, in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee. The Minister of Sports, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee and Head of the Executive Office of the Committee, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, Fares Al Mutawa, members of the General Assembly and members of the Board of Directors. The “Elite Club” aims to provide an ideal environment for athletes, by providing advanced training programs, and technical and financial support, to achieve the best results at the regional and international levels, while enhancing the status of Emirati sports globally, in accordance with Olympic values ​​and principles, as the club is launched under supervision and sponsorship. The National Olympic Committee, in coordination with the concerned authorities, and assigning the Secretary-General of the Committee to develop a complete vision for forming the club’s management structure, and to study the mechanisms for allocating the necessary financial resources to achieve its goals, provided that this vision is submitted to His Highness the President of the National Olympic Committee, for approval. Within one month from its date.

During the meeting, the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee approved extending the mandate of the current Board of Directors of the Committee until the end of the 2028 Olympic Games if they are held, while assigning the Committee’s Board of Directors to take all necessary legal measures in the event that any of its seats become vacant during that period, for any reason. Termination of membership in the Board of Directors, in accordance with the provisions of Article (50) of the provisions of the statute of the National Olympic Committee.

The committee’s new building

During the General Assembly meeting of the National Olympic Committee, the opening of the new building of the Committee, based in Dubai, was approved during the first quarter of 2025, with the General Secretariat of the Olympic Committee being assigned to coordinate with all sports federations members of the Committee regarding the headquarters of those federations, and to work to complete the transfer processes to The new building within the specified period, with the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee submitting a detailed report on this matter within a month of its date, to His Highness the President of the National Olympic Committee.

Advisory Board

The General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee also approved the nomination of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, as Chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Olympic Committee, and his formation of the Advisory Council in accordance with the text of Article (40) of the provisions of the statute of the National Olympic Committee and the applicable laws in this regard. The matter.

Sports Arbitration Council

During the meeting, the General Assembly also approved the formation of the Sports Arbitration Council of the Emirates Sports Arbitration Center for the period 2024-2028, in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law No. (16) of 2016, regarding the Emirates Sports Arbitration Center, and the text of Article (11) of the provisions of the statute of the National Olympic Committee regarding… Emirates Sports Arbitration Center, thanking the Chairman and members of the Center’s Sports Arbitration Council for the end of their term 2020-2024.

The Sports Arbitration Council of the Emirates Sports Arbitration Center for the period 2024-2028 is chaired by Jamal Hamid Al Marri, with the membership of: Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajri, representing the General Sports Authority, Mohammed Juma Al Suwaidi, and Dr. Faisal Hassan Ahmed, representatives with legal expertise, and Shihab Hamad Bushhab, Representing the individual games, Moza Buharoun Al Shamsi, a representative with sports experience, and Abdullah Khamis Buamim, A representative of group games.
