Al -Ahly Youth goalkeeper Hamad Al -Maqbali confirmed that “Dubai Knights” is running the most important stage last season, stressing that the team must end the season with the same focus and the best possible way, hoping that it will collect for the League and Cup titles this season.
Al -Maqbali told «Emirates Today» that the youth of Al -Ahly offers an exceptional season, adding: “We are running the last rounds of the current season in the ADNOC Professional League, and the team will play the final of the President’s Cup, and we hope that we will finish the season by crowning the title, after we have made a great effort throughout the season.”
He added, “We must continue with the same focus, because this stage is to harvest the effort that the players have made throughout the season.”
He stressed that the remaining matches in the league will not be easy, after the team tied against Al -Wahda in the 22nd round at Al Nahyan Stadium, and he said: “We will play the remaining four rounds as if we play in the cup that we have no choice but to win, until the team will decide the title.”
He added: “We played a difficult match against Al -Wahda, as it is a fierce and strong team, and he aspired to win at home, and the same is for us, so the match was exciting, and witnessed strong competition from the two teams, and ended in a draw after the players presented a very good level.”
In response to a question about his contribution to Al -Ahly’s youth getting an important point after he was almost suffering from his first loss in the league, he said: “This matter is due to the whole team and not only because of me, and I see that I am at the beginning of my career with the club, and I hope that it will be the best start of a distinguished march in the coming years.”
The 21 -year -old goalkeeper talked about his ambitions, he said: “My great aspirations have no limits, and currently I focus with Al -Ahly’s youth, as he is a big team that offers an exceptional season, and I hope that I will achieve my priorities, which is to win the league titles and the President’s Cup in my first season with the team.” He continued: «Al -Ahly youth includes a group of distinguished goalkeepers, and I am happy that I play with this wonderful group, and I see that the competition between us is in the interest of the team, as it contributes to the rise of our level and providing our best to serve the club.
It is noteworthy that Al -Ahly youth had contracted with Hamad Al -Maqbali in the last summer transfer period from Fujairah, as the young goalkeeper participated in 21 games out of a total of 22 rounds in the league, and is one of the most prominent goalkeepers in the country during the current season.
