Al Ain draws with Qatari Al Sadd with Palacios’ shot

Al Ain began their campaign to defend their title in the AFC Champions League for the Elite with a 1-1 draw against their guest, Al Sadd of Qatar, today (Monday), in the first round competitions, in an exciting and strong confrontation.
The Qatari team opened the scoring through its captain Akram Afif at the end of the first half, while “Al-Zaeem” waited until the 80th minute for Matias Palacios to equalize with a rocket shot.
Al Ain dominated the match from the first moments, and Moroccan striker Soufiane Rahimi almost gave them the lead when he was alone in front of the goal, but the right post prevented him from scoring “10”.
Al Ain players asked Tajik referee Gulmorodi Saldulo to award a penalty kick in favour of their team after the ball touched the hand of Al Sadd defender Paulo Otavio following a cross from Mohammed Abbas, but the referee ordered the game to resume.
