The National Team Committee of the Emirates Bodybuilding Federation nominated national team player Khalid Mohammed Al Mutawa to participate in the World Cup scheduled to be held in Japan in mid-December, with the participation of the elite world champions, after his achievements in the Classic Bodybuilding and Classic Physique competitions for height 180 centimeters and above. Al-Mutawa also became the first national player to win two Champions League titles, and to win two gold medals in one day during the Gulf Championship, which was held in the Saudi city of Dammam last November.

Khaled Al-Mutawa (39 years old) told Emirates Al-Youm that he began his sporting career as a volleyball player at Al-Nasr Club, and was included in the youth team in 2002, but he stopped practicing this sport after moving to work at Dubai airports on field tasks that require physical strength. So he started lifting weights to strengthen his muscles so he could do his job well.

He added: “Gradually, I noticed an improvement in my physical abilities, which encouraged me to practice bodybuilding, which came about by chance, and winning championships helped me to continue strong, including the silver in the UAE Championship in 2015, and the silver and bronze in the Dubai Classic in 2018, which are important medals in my sporting life, in addition to… Gulf achievements and many previous medals.”

Al-Mutawa expressed his happiness in practicing a difficult competitive sport, which is body building, even though he started practicing it nine years ago at the age of 30, pointing out that the difficulty was in the shift work system, and having to work at night and train during the day, but he succeeded in achieving an achievement that he is proud of as an Emirati. .

Al-Mutawa stressed that he fought difficult competitions in the Gulf Championship, but he was up to the responsibility, which led him to the historic victory and to continue his preparations to travel with the national team to Japan to compete for the best World Cup titles, and that the ambition is first place.

Al-Mutawa spoke about Al-Nasr Club, which he has loved since his childhood, and said: “Love for Al-Nasr Club runs in my blood, and I am keen to follow it, support it and encourage it,” indicating that the difficult period that Al-Nasr Club experienced has ended and it is on its way to building a strong team, and it is not unlikely that it will achieve one of the goals of the club. Championships this season, and that over the next three years he will win the league shield.
