Al-Nasr team took the lead in the overall standings of the Basketball League, after defeating its host Al-Wasl with a score of (93-73), the day before yesterday, in the fifth round of the first leg of the preliminary round.
The round also witnessed the victory of Al-Bataeh over its guest, Al-Dhafra (94-67), and Al-Wahda outside its home at the expense of Al-Jazira (86-58), before Al-Sharjah was able to inflict the first defeat on its guest, Shabab Al-Ahly (97-80).
Al-Nasr confirmed its claim to lead the league with 10 points, while Al-Sharjah imposed itself as a partner for Shabab Al-Ahly in the runner-up with nine points each.
Al-Wasl’s loss led to it entering into a partnership with Al-Bataeh and Al-Wahda in fourth place (seven points), followed by Al-Dhafra (six points), and Al-Jazira (five points).
