Al -Wasl goalkeeper, Khaled Al -Sinani, confirmed that the “Emperor” is able to extract the qualification card to the AFC Champions League quarter -finals, when the Qatari Dam faces, next Monday, with the second leg in Doha.
Al -Sinani told «Emirates Today» that the exclusionary roles matches have various accounts, adding: “Certainly we do not feel satisfied after we tied at our stadium, in the first leg, with a goal for each team, but Al -Wasl’s chances stand in qualifying for the quarter -finals.”
He continued: «We have another match in Doha, during which we will work to provide everything we have and appear well, to achieve a result that contributes to our rise to the quarter -finals.
The Emperor goalkeeper talked about the course of the first leg, which ended in a 1-1 draw in Zabeel, saying: “We played very well, but this is football, when you do not take advantage of the opportunities to score, it is natural for you to enter goals.”
He continued: “We advanced with an early time by Ali Saleh, and we had more than one opportunity to strengthen the result, but we did not succeed in achieving the second goal that would have given us a good preference.”
And he added: «On the other hand, it is normal after we missed many opportunities.
Al -Sinani praised the Al -Wasl players, and said: “Despite the result of the tie, but I thank all the players, especially since I see that the team presented a strong match, and I returned to the minds the wonderful levels presented by Al -Wasl last season, and because of it a historical duo achieved the victory of the professional league and the President’s Cup, so I hope that we will continue in the coming period at this level, and that the team’s results will improve in the league, and to appear in the best way in the semi -finals. In front of the youth of Al -Ahly, and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup in front of Al -Jazeera.
As for his participation in the starting lineup in the AFC Champions League for the elite, despite the contract with Al -Wasl with Moroccan goalkeeper Anas Al -Zaniti for external participation, he said: “There is no difference between me and Al -Zaniti, as he participated in the past two games against Al -Nasr and Al -Hilal, and he is a large goalkeeper, and whether I participated or chose the technical staff to participate Al -Zaniti, the most important for us is to provide good matches.”
It is noteworthy that Al -Wasl will play the return match against the Qatari Al -Sadd, next Monday, at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, where the “Emperor” enters the meeting and there is no alternative to him other than achieving victory to ensure qualification for the quarter -finals, while the tie at any result in the original and additional time contributes to the penalty shootout setting the identity of the team that will go up to the quarter -finals.
The winner qualifies for the final stage of the exclusionary roles that will be held in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the Asian Football Confederation announced the draw for the eight clubs that qualify for the quarter -finals, while the draw will be directed so that four clubs from West Asia will meet with their counterpart from East Asia.
