The head of the Air Force at Airbus Defense and Space, Jean-Brice Dumont, confirmed that Airbus has been a key partner in supporting the aviation sector in the UAE for years, and a supporter of the localization of the aircraft parts industry in the country, which has enabled Emirati companies to develop manufacturing capabilities and produce parts. Dumont said, in an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), on the occasion of signing a new partnership agreement with the “Edge” company, to launch the production of a fuel tank for the “C295” transport aircraft: “All Airbus aircraft currently produced are equipped with parts manufactured in the Emirates.”

Dumont reviewed the future ambitions of Airbus in the Emirates, pointing out the company’s plans to double the size of its industrial activities in the country during the next decade, pointing out that Airbus sees the Emirates as a long-term strategic partner.

He explained that the company’s efforts to localize the aircraft parts industry are not limited to manufacturing only, but rather include building a local expertise base that contributes to the development of the aviation sector as a whole, and makes the UAE an influential player on the international scene in this vital field. He stressed that the company’s goal is not limited to meeting the needs of the market. Not only local, but also making the Emirates an international center for aircraft parts manufacturing, which opens broad horizons for Emirati industries.
