Amendments to hand league matches due to external participation


The Competitions Committee of the Handball Federation announced an amendment to the schedule of preliminary round matches in the General League competition, extending rounds from six to 11, in light of the entitlements and affiliations of the country’s clubs, represented by Sharjah, Dibba Al-Hisn, Shabab Al-Ahly and Mleiha, in international tournaments and foreign participation.

The Sharjah, Dibba Al-Hisn and Maliha clubs are participating in the eighth edition of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Qasimi International Championship, which was launched yesterday at the Sharjah Club Hall and extends until the 28th of this month, followed by the participation of Shabab Al-Ahly in a friendly tournament in Saudi Arabia, from the 26th of this month to the 31st of the same month. Then, Sharjah is eligible for the UAE-Bahraini Super Cup match on the eighth of next month, while Dibba Al-Hisn represents the country in the 41st Gulf Championship for Champions Clubs. Cups, scheduled to be held in Oman from February 13 to 25.

The new dates for the postponed matches in the league were set after the Al-Sharjah and Shabab Al-Ahly match in the sixth round, scheduled for February 4, was moved to be held on the 15th of the same month, and the Al-Sharjah, Al-Wasl, Dibba Al-Hisn and Al-Nasr matches were moved for the seventh round, which was scheduled for The eighth of next February, to be held on the 25th and the fifth of next March.

The eighth round, scheduled to start on the 15th of next month, included the transfer of the Dibba Al-Hisn and Sharjah match to be held on March 15, while the Al-Wahda and Dibba Al-Hisn match was also transferred for the ninth round from February 22 to the fifth of next April.

The change affected the tenth round, which will be held on February 28, the Dibba Al-Hisn and Shabab Al-Ahly match, for which a new date was set for next March 25. The match between Shabab Al-Ahly and Maliha was also transferred for the 11th round, from the eighth of next March, to be held on the 15th of the same month.
