The activities of the ninth edition of the Asian Winter Games, hosted by the Chinese city of Harbin, will open until February 14th, with the participation of 1500 athletes and sports from 34 Asian Olympic committees, competing in six sports, with 11 specialties, and 64 events 32 of them on the ice in Harbin, and 32 on the snow in Yabuli.

The UAE coach of ice skiing, Mohamed Ait Moulay, confirmed that the players benefited from participating in the camp in Georgia, who aimed to conduct training under three different circumstances; It included training in the sun, fog, and ice falling in preparation for competitions in all weather conditions, indicating that all players have implemented the plans laid down and the training aspects during the camp.

Mohamed Ait Moulay added that the player Amna Al -Muhairi has also completed her preparations in a European camp to determine her technical readiness, in addition to player Alex Estridge, who concluded his camp in Italy and participated in an official championship, as all these steps come within the framework of the participating delegation to compete with The elite of Asian players in this event.

For his part, the Secretary -General of the National Olympic Committee, Fares Al -Mutawa, confirmed that the participation of the Emirates delegation in the Asian Winter Games, for the first time; It reflects the prosperity and development of winter sports in the country, and enhances their position and presence in the list of countries with distinguished levels in this aspect, in line with the vision and goals of the National Olympic Committee in promoting the concept of sports competition in all forums at all levels.

Al -Mutawa pointed out the importance of diversity in sports participation while achieving the achievement of it, and moving forward in the path of representing the country with efficiency and effectiveness in order to leave a positive imprint on the Emirates sport, and translate the support of the rational leadership of this important sector into concrete successes on the ground.
