On Sunday, the Fujairah Martial Arts Club launched the activities of the second edition of the International Taekwondo Training Camp, which it organizes at the club’s stadiums, with the aim of providing equal training opportunities for the players who will participate in the Arab Cup and Fujairah International Taekwondo Championships, which will be organized in Fujairah next February at the Zayed Sports Complex.
The camp, which is supervised by Jordanian Olympic coach Fares Al-Assaf and the club’s coaches Anas Al-Athraba and Islam Joudah, includes an elite group of international players, including Olympic medal winners in the Paris 2024 Olympics, namely Tunisian Firas Al-Qantousi, gold holder, his compatriot Muhammad Al-Jendoubi (bronze), and Jordanian Zaid Mustafa (silver), in addition to the UAE national teams. Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. The camp lasts for 7 days .
For his part, the director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, Nader Abu Shawish, told “Emirates Today”: “The goal of the international camp is to provide equal opportunities for the players participating in the next two tournaments, especially since they will be held with a short time difference,” explaining that “the players and teams participating in the camp are also preparing for the tournament.” The World Junior Championships will be held in Fujairah next May, and the men’s tournament in China next October.
